For the final part of our roadtrip we spent some time near Tavira and Olhao, the Eastern and more traditional part of the Algarve. It’s a really interesting place completely different from the touristy parts, there are barrier islands, HUGE beaches, old fishing towns, salt flats and national parks.

The Algarve is high on everybody’s list for Portugal and we couldn’t resist seeing some of the famous beaches. But we also didn’t want to do it in a typical touristy way so here’s how we spent 3 nights of our Portuguese road trip…
