Italy
We’ve been to Lake Garda almost every year since my daughter was born nearly 6 years ago. It just makes for such a perfect family holiday destination and is also one of the best value places even in the school holidays {there always seem to be cheap flights to Milan!}. Here are some places not to miss if you’re planning a trip…
A full review of our stay at Camping Serenella near Bardolino on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy. It was such a family friendly European campsite that we’d definitely not rule out going back to.
Last May half term, we had the most beautiful week staying in Mazzaro, the beach just below Taormina in Sicily. Whilst it absolutely wins on scenery and had been on my list to visit for years after we fell in love with the Amalfi Coast {of which it feels quite similar}, I wouldn’t say that Sicily is the most child friendly place we’ve ever been to. It’s very much old school charm. We knew that before we booked! But here are some things that our children {aged 4 & 2 at the time} really enjoyed and some top tips if you’re planning to visit…
We first discovered the beauty of a holiday in the mountains last summer and quickly got converted. The breathtaking beauty takes some beating. We also discovered the concept of kinder hotels for the first time - a hotel designed specifically around children and families. They’re honestly a kid paradise - and therefore every parent’s paradise! Happy kiddos, easy parenting, luxury hotel. Win win.
The hotels are amazing in all seasons, they offer so much inside and out whatever the weather but we were particularly excited to visit in the winter and had been dreaming of a snowy trip! Feuerstein Nature Resort blew us away & we had the most incredible long weekend. Here’s alllll you need to know.
